Another Amesbury Sculpture

We’re getting quite a selection of sculptures in Amesbury. There’s the six designed by Charlotte Moreton, and built by engineering apprentices at Boscombe Down, there’s the ‘Ancestor’, crafted by my friends Michelle and Andy at AR Metalcraft, and there’s ‘The Archer’ by Lucy Quinelle. How long, I wonder, before someone dreams up a ‘sculpture Trail’ to visit them all?

They’ve recently been joined by another; I’m not sure whether this one is a ‘pop-up’ or if it’s going to be a permanent fixture.

It’s called ‘Standing Strong’, and is the work of artist Paul Hawthorn. It’s intended to promote awareness of mental health, and how yoga can assist in physical and mental well-being.
