The Oakwood Clock: Work in Progress

Oakwood Clock_copy

Last year, I wrote about the famous Leeds landmark, the Oakwood Clock at https://travelrat.wordpress.com/2014/02/10/the-oakwood-clock-and-others/  . I noted that there was a campaign afoot to ‘Save the Oakwood Clock’. I’m not sure what the ‘threat’ was; development, or was it just becoming too expensive to maintain?

But, when I passed by the other day, I saw it surrounded by temporary barriers, workers in hard hats and hi-viz jackets and their equipment.

And, the upper bit; the clock itself, looked freshly refurbished. So, it looked as if the campaign worked!
