Huang Long Xi

Huang Long Xi_copy

Chengdu: 16th May 2014.

On the way back from Leshan, we stopped at the Huang Long Xi market. It might be thought that we’re visiting a lot of markets this trip, but I never tire of them. For colour and local flavour, they just can’t be beaten.

And, when you’ve had your fill, there’s always the tea shop … in this case, an open-air one on the bank of a picturesque little stream.

Beware, however, of the man who approaches you, clicking a pair of stainless steel tongs. Tell him politely to go away; he wants (for a fee of course!) to clean your ears out!

I think I’ll stick to cotton buds.
