Dover Castle Revisited

Dover Castle 6

Dover 30th May 2014

I’ve said before that Dover Castle is worth a second … or even a third visit, because it’s just not possible to see everything in a day. This time, we wanted to check out the Wartime Tunnels, but one look at the crowds and queues made us decide to leave it for another day.

There’s plenty more to see and do, though. At the Great Tower, we saw a re-enactment presented by ‘Queen Eleanor of Acquitaine’ and her courtiers.

We’re going to visit again next time we’re in Dover … hopefully, next time, I’ll have qualified for me English Heritage Volunteers’ Card, and can get in for nothing!
