Alice Springs: Slide Show

Alice Springs: 19th April 2012.

We didn’t see a great deal of ‘The Alice’, for we were to leave on our tour of the Red Centre early the following morning. If we had stayed on the train, there are several ‘whistle stop’ tours available which show a great deal more, but we’d taken the opportunity to stop here, and take a tour (organised by the railway people) to visit some of the best of what Australia has to offer.

(I was going to say ‘i***s’, but I made a New Year resolution not to use that over-used word)

But, we did have a wander round and take some photos, which I’ll show you here.

  1. Love the signs pointing to different parts of the world. You have really captured the essence of the Alice!

    • I like this one … but can’t help contrasting it with the one at Land’s End, which is heavily commercialised. For a rather extortionate fee, they’ll put up an arm pointing to your home town, and photograph you by it. Of course, you can’t approach it otherwise, and take your own photograph.

But here, it’s free, and you can take all the pix you want.

(I did think of telling the Land’s End people I came from Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, but thought better of it 😀 )
