Canterbury Video

Canterbury: 17th July 2011.

As you’ve probably gathered, I wasn’t too impressed with Canterbury. Not because of the rain, or even the tourist crowds when the coach parties arrived later in the morning. On reflection, I suppose it’s rather unfair to judge a whole town on the attitude of one surly security guard …

So, I’ll let you judge for yourself. Here’s my video!

  1. Hi Keith,
I love all the old architecture, the building that first come up in the video was magnificent. I would most likely love this place, because of the history. 🙂

    • That was the gatehouse to the Cathedral precinct. Probably the main attraction of Canterbury is the architecture … but there’s equally good stuff to be seen elsewhere. Maybe we in Europe are suffering a little from ‘architectural overload’, and have got a bit blasé about it?

  2. I love the architecture so much. It is just divine. I would be all excited walking along there.

Is that door on the Old King’s Shop meant to be on a lean? I immediately thought of a scene from Harry Potter. Haha.

    • It is … in fact, the whole place is slightly skewiff. The trick is to get your pictures when there aren’t tourists being photographed leaning against the door.
