Qype: Marine Court in Dover

DoverEating & DrinkingRestaurants

The Marine Court is a clean, attractive bar/restaurant, near the Premier Inn, where we were staying. Since the Premier Inn doesn’t do meals, this is convenient if you want somewhere for a beer, a quick bite or a more leisurely meal. And, if you want a sea view, you’ll get it, if you choose your table carefully.

We found the meals reasonably priced … they’re even more reasonable on weekdays, and found nothing about them to complain about; although I found the chili con carne a little mild, that’s a personal thing.

On the occasion we just wanted a sandwich, we found the bacon, lettuce and tomato baguette a crusty delight, although, on this day, the service was a little slow. But, that was to be expected. The place was crowded, for the British Open was being played at nearby Sandwich. And, they did bring my pint of ‘Spitfire’ in a reasonable time.

  1. Hi Keith,
Sounds like a lovely place for a meal, I noticed by the map, that there isn’t even a road in between the restaurant and the water, so the view would be lovely I suspect, if you were lucky enough to get a seat near a window.

    • Marine Parade is between the sea and the resto, but it’s not very busy. It used to be the main road, but it’s been by-passed by the A20 (shown in green) which runs behind it.
