A Wet Weekend

We didn’t stay in the Lake District long enough to do anything interesting. But, I did find out about the ‘Lakes Rider’, an open-top bus which operates between Bowness Pier and Grasmere in the summer, and should be good for some great video at a later date, if the weather’s right.

On Friday morning, we drove over to Leeds to visit my daughter, She lives near Gledhow Wood, where I got some great pictures and video. But then, it started raining. Not enough, thank goodness, to turn the firework party into a ‘damp squib’, but enough to get us all a little bit wet.

On Sunday, we went to the cinema to see ‘Mamma Mia’, which I thoroughly recommend to anyone suffering the ‘winter blahs’

But, it was so disappointing to see that lovely sunny island, and come out to find … it was still raining!

  1. Sorry to hear it’s been constantly raining. I bet it was great to see your daughter, though!

  2. Fortunately, it didn’t constantly rain. I managed to do some videoing in Roundhay Park; my battery went flat, and I filled my memory card just as it started to rain.

The following day, I went to Tropical World, to experiment with videoing butterflies. Varied success, but I might get a short film out of it.
