Tagged!

p001-australia-day-parade.jpg

I don’t normally post at weekends, but I wanted to reply to this tag. Also, today is Australia Day, and I just happened to have an appropriate picture, taken at the Australia Day parade in Adelaide two years ago. It’s a bit cold for a barbie here … but our local supermarket sells Cooper’s Pale Ale! Cheers!

Anyway, back to the tag … I had this from Selma at Selma in the City ( http://selmainthecity.wordpress.com )

The rules are :

* link to the person who tagged you
* post the rules on your blog
* share six non-important things/ habits/ quirks about yourself
* tag at least 3 people at the end of the post and link to their blogs
* let each person know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog

SIX OF MY QUIRKS :

1. From April till October, I only wear socks on ‘formal’ occasions. I have a suit and a tie somewhere, and wear them even less often.

2. I used to hate snakes … even the thought of one used to be able to send me into a state of gibbering incontinence. This was all changed when the TV series ‘Crocodile Hunter’ came along. Wherever you are now, Steve-o … thanks, mate!

3. I wish I could sing or play a musical instrument. Alas, my version of ‘God Save the Weasel’ sounds absolutely identical to ‘Pop Goes the Queen’. I can just about manage a simple tune on a tin whistle, though.

.

4. My ‘life rules’:

‘Today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday’

‘If you can keep your head when all about you are losing theirs, you don’t understand the situation’

‘You are not lost till you sit down and give up. Till then, you are just mislaid’

‘Man who can see light at end of tunnel about to get hit by train’

‘The best of plans rarely survive first contact with the enemy’

‘It is not enough to write so that all can understand you. You should write so no-one can possibly misunderstand you’

5. I have every book that Wilbur Smith ever wrote … and, as soon as my grand-daughter returns ‘The Sunday Philosophy Club’ I’ll have the complete works of Alexander McCall Smith, too.

6. I’d like to be able to ride, and not have to rely on 100% co-operation from the horse. And, I’d like public transport to be so convenient and inexpensive, I can sell my car.

Now I have to tag three more people, and I choose:

Pam at ‘Hey, there, Pammygirl!’ (http://pammyshep.wordpress.com )

Jayne at ‘Coffee, anyone?’ (http://www.coffeeshoponline.blogspot.com/)

Vivienne at ‘Round the World with Viv’ (http://viviennemackie.wordpress.com/)

Hope you don’t mind me tagging you, guys, but I’d love to hear your responses!
