Mt. Tamborine: 4th August 2010
On the way to Queensland’s Gold Coast, we split the party. One car would go to the Gold Coast via the Casino at Surfers’ Paradise; the other … ours … would head into the hills to the mountain town of Mt. Tamborine.

There are many attractions on the mountain, and we certainly wouldn’t have time to visit all of them. We made a bee-line for the main one, the Skywalk. Now, having visited the Mary Cairncross Reserve and Fraser Island in the last few days, we could have been getting a little bit blasé about rain forests. Not a bit of it … this one’s different. Most of the walk is on an elevated platform through the tree tops. But, I won’t bother with descriptions; I’ll let the video do the talking this time.
Hi Keith,
A great video, and very nice pictures as well, the rain forests always look so peaceful, it’s like another world sometimes. The sky walk looks great, (I haven’t seen it yet) and a great idea walking through the tree tops, gives you a different perspective of the forest.

I want to go on the skywalk. I want to go on the skywalk. It looks magical. Thanks for letting us see it. It was amazing!

There’s more to come; the Kuranda Skyrail goes right through the treetops.
Also, while we were in Cairns, I wanted to go ziplining through the forest canopy, but I got outvoted, and we went river tubing instead.

This looks like so much fun – I’d love to take a walk through the tree canopy someday! Heard of one in Costa Rica – now I know there is one in Australia, too…

Looks like fun! Beautiful, I could almost smell all the forest smells. Pretty orchid flowers as well. Looks like a magical place.
