Winter at Roundhay Park

When I’m staying with my daughter in Leeds, if I feel like a walk, Roundhay Park isn’t all that far away. I’ve already done one post about Roundhay Park, and I was rather surprised at the number of hits it generated.

Eventually, I’m hoping to do a video showing the changing seasons there, although, with other things happening, it won’t be ready any time soon. I have some Autumn footage I took in 2009 that I’ve barely looked at yet, let alone edited.

Shortly after Christmas, I did go down a couple of times, and got some winter footage. I took some stills, too, which I hope you like.

  1. Hi Keith,
What a beautiful place, it really looks gorgeous. Really nice slideshow you took some great pictures.

  2. It is very picturesque. I don’t think I’ve ever been there but it looks familiar, like something from a Merchant Ivory film. It must be a lovely place to visit!

  3. I know we’ve discussed slide show software before but is this a new one? I like the clean, uncommercial look of it not to mention the atmospheric winter shots

    • This is WordPress’s own software … there’s insstructions on how to do it at http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

For some reason, though, I can no longer embed slide.com shows into WordPress, although those already existing can still be viewed … now, thankfully, without those stupid cartoon animals popping up!

  4. Thanks Keith, I was aware of the WordPress Gallery function and I think I’ve tried it. I think it’s good if you don’t have too many photos as from memory I believe you have to upload them, whereas I often find it convenient to use shots I already have on Flickr which some Slideshows will allow you to import

  6. [...] That’s like being asked to pick out your favourite child; usually, I fudge, and answer ‘The one I’m dealing with at the moment’ But, I’ll go for a part of the ongoing photo/video project ‘Four Seasons at Roundhay’ … http://travelrat.wordpress.com/2011/01/10/winter-at-roundhay-park [...]
